Pre-Season Report Card: Offense

Hoping to do a little write-up explaining some of these grades (will probably post before opening night), but here is my initial feeling on the strength of each team's offense in each of our categories. I used some projections/rankings, but as always, it's mostly my biased and unfair judgment.
Defense will be posted later this afternoon.

  1. I would love to hear the rationale behind the argument that Pflanz's team, who has one 2014 20+ home run guy, is a full letter grade better in the HR category than my team, who has three 2014 20+ home run guys, a 2014 30 home run guy, and 2037 HOF inductee in Kris Bryant.

  2. I can answer this one now: I think all 9 of Pflanz's starters plus his top bench guy will hit 12 or more HR's. I think he has 5 guys (Votto, Dozier, Cespedes, Dickerson, Alvarez) who will get to 20 homers, and those last 3 could probably get to 25.

I think Molina, Zobrist, Wong, and Gardner will struggle to get to double digits. I think you have 5 guys (VMart, Beltre, Cutch, JD-Mart, Arenado) who get to 20 homers, and cutch is probably the only one getting to 25.

So I think he has a higher floor and a lower ceiling, although neither are very high.

Also I realize I left Bryant completely out of my prediction numbers...oops.
